about

Somehow the question begs itself, as we are met with the sonic-scapes of what remains to be revealed.

One part is surely a reminiscence, fleeting memories of things we yearn for, a longing for times long gone. Memories that our awake mind have no way of grasping but that we through the senses, can somehow still connect too. Like the scent of a particular soap can take us back to our grandmothers house, tones and melodies can take us back to a childhood state, and at best perhaps even a prenatal state, a place from before we were born; letting us connect to an inherent idea that life is everlasting.

Most obviously this idea is a rare offset from the regular mind-state of seeking food, enjoying life and staying away from death. Some of us must be born to seek death, in order to discover the limits and boundaries of that experience. Perhaps esoteric transcendence is a connection to that state, the alpha state of mind where the present moment becomes all encompassing.

The improvisation and collected efforts of any music endeavour, connects deeply to this state of mind, this very heralded state of complete immersion in the present.

Music has many properties of identifying likes and dislikes, style, taste and memories - but most of all it has a deep, underlying emotional connection and the possibility to connect us with our most primitive and our highest selves, at the same time.
